  Step 1:  It Must Be Done!

Formatting your hard drive is an essential step in the process. You can't forget to do this, because your computer won't work until you do.
  Step 2:  Help Is on the Way!

Most of the hard drives that you can buy today come with a Wizard or installation program that will actually format your hard drive for you. This is especially true of hard EIDE drives.
  Step 3:  If You Have Problems

If the Wizard or installation program is not performing correctly and doesn't format your hard drive, you should call for technical support. It is quite unlikely that you will have to do so; however, as these programs are very dependable.
  Step 4:  Losing Information

You should know that anytime you format a disk, any information stored on it is deleted. It cannot be retrieved.
