This computer has one PC Card socket (also known as PCMCIA card socket). The card must be inserted into the bottom of the slot. This slot accepts Type I, II, and III cards. |
It is not necessary to shut down and restart the computer when changing most cards because the computer supports hot-swapping. Hot-swapping means that you can insert a PC Card while the computer is running. If the PC Card does not
work after hot-swapping, refer to the PC Card manufacturer’s documentation for further information.
Follow these steps to insert and remove a PC Card.
- Push the card firmly into the PC Card socket label-side up until the outer edge of the card is flush with the side of the computer.
- To remove the card, release the eject button by pressing the PC Card eject button once.
- Eject the PC Card by pressing the eject button again.
- Pull the card straight out of the socket.
